Brenda Howald

Brenda Howald is an innovative educator who combines a background in language studies and professional dance to meet a full range of student needs. Brenda holds a degree in Literature from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro. She studied in the MFA program in Modern Dance at the University of Utah and danced professionally with Dance Kaleidium of St. Louis and CoMotion Dance of Seattle. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in numerous academic journals and she trained in classical music in her youth. 

Brenda studied ESL methodology at the TESOL* school in Seattle, Washington and has taught English as a Second Language to students from Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Korea, Nicaragua, Mexico and Spain. In addition, she has worked as a bi-lingual aide in Spanish in the Seattle schools.

Her particular interest is somatic education and the link between movement integration and the cognitive development of the brain.
